On the way
to Delhi, Guru Sahib Ji stayed at Ambala, where
a proud
Brahmin, Pandit Lal Chand, Questioned
him about the meaning of certain difficult passages
in the Gita.
The Pandit wanted to test the intellectual
powers of the Guru.
Guru Harkrishan asked the Pandit whether
he should translate Gita himself or he should
get it done from Chhajju Gunga.
The Pandit was happy to hear that Chhajju
is going to translate the Gita, because Chhajju
was a dumb person in the village.
Guru Harkrishan
put his stick on Chhajju and asked him to answer
the Pandit’s questions.
Chhajju Gunga answered all the questions
of the Pandit without any difficulty.
The Pandit felt ashamed and humbled;
he fell on the feet of Guru Harkrishan Ji and
begged for forgiveness
In response
to the wishes of the Sangat, Guru Harkrishan
Ji went to Delhi with his Grandmother.
They stayed at a bunglo of Raja Jai Singh.
A beautiful Gurdwara (Bungla-Sahib) now
stands to the Guru Harkrishan Ji’s scared memory.
During Guru
Harkrishan Sahib’s stay in Delhi, cholera broke
out. Guru
brought health and happiness to much cholera
stricken people.
Soon after Guru Harkrishan Ji fell ill.
The Sikh started to worry about his successor.
They asked the Guru who would guide them
after.
Before taking their last breath Guru
Harkrishan Ji pointed to his followers that
the next Guru would be Baba Bakala.
Guru Harkrishan Sahib
Ji passed away March 30th 1664.
